Once upon a time, in a land far away, there was a giant city called Gotham. It had towers that reached the clouds and silver lanterns that glowed on every street. During the day, the city sparkled brightly, and at night, it slept peacefully under the stars.
On the highest hill of this city stood a very old and beautiful mansion. A kind and helpful man named Bruce lived there. But Bruce had a big secret that no one knew: at night, he turned into Batman, the protector of the city!
Batman had a huge black cape that swished in the wind and a mask with bat ears. But he wasn’t a scary hero; instead, he was the best friend of anyone who needed help.
One evening, while a big, round moon was in the sky, Batman was working in his secret room under the mansion. Suddenly, a strange sound came from the city square: Beep! Beep! Beep! Batman immediately looked at his giant screen. Joker, the naughtiest magician in the city, had climbed to the very top of the clock tower! He was painting the clouds gray with a giant brush.
Batman said to himself, “Something is wrong here. If Joker paints the clouds gray, there will be no rainbows in the city. I must go and stop him right away!” He jumped into his fastest car. This car was so fast that blue sparks flew from its wheels. Vroom! He set off, passing through the streets like the wind.
When he reached the square, Joker’s laughter was echoing. Joker shouted, “Look, Batman! When I finish this gray paint, Gotham will be the most colorless city! No one will want to play games anymore!”
Batman stepped out of his car. He opened his cape, and he looked like a giant bird. He took out his special grappling hook from his belt. Swoosh! He fired his rope and climbed to the top of the tower in seconds.
Joker was surprised! “Oh no, how are you so fast?” he asked.
Batman smiled. “I’m fast because I love this city and the children in it, Joker. You must give us back our colors,” he said.
To play a trick on Batman, Joker took out colorful balls from his pocket and threw them all into the air. But Batman was very agile! He moved through the balls as if he were dancing. Just then, Batman had a great idea. He took out his special “Light Ball.”
This ball shone like sunlight. The moment Batman threw the ball into the air, the top of the tower lit up so brightly that Joker’s gray paint vanished with a poof! The gray clouds cleared, and the stars returned. Joker said, “Oh dear! The light is here, my game is ruined!” He gave up on his prank and went home.
The citizens opened their windows and looked outside. The sky was deep blue and full of stars again. Everyone began to clap with joy. Batman waved down to the children from the top of the tower. Everyone was safe now.
Batman returned to his mansion to see his loyal friend, Alfred. Alfred had prepared a glass of warm milk and fresh cookies. “You did a wonderful job again, Bruce,” he said. Batman took off his mask and sat on his chair, tired but very happy.
That night, all the children in Gotham saw the most colorful dreams in their beds. Because they knew that as long as the bat emblem shone in the sky, Batman would always protect them.
Three apples fell from the sky: one for brave Batman, who lived this beautiful adventure; one for all the children who love and protect their city; and one for the little heroes who are ready to sleep soundly after listening to this tale.
They reached their goal, and we shall go on our way. May the lights of Gotham never go out, and may the children’s sleep never be disturbed!
